IT Management Certificates
The certificates confirming that the company has established the information security management system and the information technology service management system which are in compliance with the requirements of ISO 27001 and ISO 20000 standards, respectively are granted to the Vilnius-based subsidiary of Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (the former company name: Fermentas). Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (TFS) is the world leader offering products, services and solutions for science. The TFS Vilnius Subsidiary became the first enterprise in the Baltics to establish both these management systems. The new systems made it possible for the company to improve its business efficiency and minimize business expenses. “The efficient and safe information management is currently one of the vital business issues. It is particularly urgent for the companies, the competitive capacity of which is based on the unique expertise and intellectual property”, Algimantas Markauskas, Director General of TFS Vilnius Subsidiary states.

The information security management system embraces the overal company’s activities. It is not only assures the confidentiality of information, but also mitigates the risk of its loss and helps to use resources more efficiently. The IT service management system is intended for the company’s internal IT service management. The increase in efficiency of IT services and also their optimization are the effects of the system establishment.
The professionals of VORAS Consulting advised on the establishment of new systems while the intenational certification company, UAB Bureau Veritas conducted their certification.
According to Paulius Petretis, Director of VORAS Consulting, Vilnius Subsidiary of TFS is one of a few international biotechnological companies, the management systems of which are certified according to both international standards, ISO 20000 and ISO 27001.
